A new version of nXt for Revit has been posted. Download it from above. This is a new installer, so please let us know if it works properly (or if there are any problems.)

This is an alpha version for Revit 2009 only.

The following things are working in nXt for Revit

  • Orthographic and Perspective views.
  • Revit lights. (They are all treated as point lights in this version. Spot lights and area lights will be added in a later version)
  • Sun and Sky settings. (You have to manually set the nXt sun position to match the Revit Sun position. We hope to fix this in a later version.)
  • Transparent and colored materials. (The settings are read directly fromt he Revit material.)
  • Reflective and Textured materials. (You need to create a nXt material with the desired reflective setting and textures. We hope to read this directly from Revit in a future version.)

Documentation on this version is available at:

nXt for Revit 2009 Release Notes

Please note before proceeding that AccuRender nXt for Revit is in an early “Alpha” phase of development.  This means the installer is not completely automatic. In order to get it installed, you must follow the instructions in the documentation above.

It should be used with caution.  Backup any files that you care about since file corruption is a possibility.  Please practice safe alpha testing.

This is a very early prototype, so don’t expect too much and try to be in a friendly mood when testing.  On the other hand, you should be able to produce some modest but exciting renderings very quickly.

What we’re looking for here some basic technology validation.  Your feedback will help us determine whether to press forward with this application. Developing plug-ins for Revit, while not particularly difficult, is currently a frustrating activity due to the many limitations of the Revit Software Development Kit (SDK).  For more detailed information the current workflow and limitations, please go to:

The results are very promising. I have been a Accurender user since the beginning of AR2. I would like to be able to continue to use your program. We have migrated to Revit for most of the new projects in the office. I also use the EPX export function that is available from AR4 within the Autocad format. Do you expect to be able to export images as EPX files from Revit?

Hi there, well JY told me about this great product, so i downloaded the version for revit 9. Followed the install instructions, toolbar appeared on the revit menu bar, clicked on ithe accurender button after creating several 3d views and thats where the party ended.Looked into the revit .ini file and everything looks in place ( not that i know what I am looking for, but the scripts looked reasonable), . Fired up revit 8 and we got a dialog box opening up, but since i am running revit 9 i cant downgrade to 8...I have worksets enabled, tried it on a fresh file..still no good. OS win xppro.

I am unable to install nXt for Revit. I get an error message that locks up the installation process. It is a memory fault.

Related to the previous post, I installed Revit on my F Drive. I tried to install nXt on F and also C. In addition ,when trying to install to F, the search option is buggy and is susceptable of shutting down at that point. Revit does not recognize Accurender.
