    I don't think that's been implemented yet.

That is my understanding... currently nXt only translates materials in the current model. There is not a conversion module (yet?). I trhink I remember Scott or Roy posting that something will be coming later on. I have been holding off doing any conversion of the AccuStudio materials until it is confirmed.

I think I'd hold off on doing any Accustudio support work
for nXt until its processes are set in stone. Get too many
people used to an early scheme might result in it becoming
    the default before it's ready.

I agree 100% with you on that one. I figure by the time a conversion tool comes around the material scheme will be pretty much cast in stone. I could be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time today ;)

How has everyone been transferring the nXt materials?

The function is available to export/import and save the new nXt materials each as individual files.   Does anyone use this function?  And if so, are you replicating the old directory structure?  I'm just curious.

I'm not thrilled with the process of saving/importing each file, so I've taken to just using AutoCAD's style/material dialog to transfer materials from one standard drawing file to new files as needed.   Maybe it's just my old dependance on the library system.

I have, but only for my good stuff. Not doing too much with it yet though. Everythings still a work in progress.

I still have issues when saving. Why can't it use the materials name instead of leaving it blank for us to fill in. And it still wont read the secondary (bump) maps from the older format.

I'm not. I've standardized my tests on two or three
models, and am letting each new build of nXt
reconvert the material defs stored in a fresh copy
by AR4. I want to see how nXt's conversions
improve from build to build, not create my own
    ways to workaround unimplemented functions,
because I don't want these workarounds to
become work habits that I'll just have to change
    when the product becomes final.
